FIGHT BACK AGAINST BIG BROTHER! ANTI-SURVEILLANCE SKILL SHARE
December 5, 2015 3PM – 6PM
Is government surveillance getting you down? This is a beginner secure communications training; a first step on your Bilbo Baggan’s type quest to understand the scope of electronic mass surveillance and provide some concrete and helpful things you can do to protect your collective and individual Shires from the Eye of Saron that our government brands “the NSA.”
Join Mayday’s longtime supporter, Jonathan S. Uss, Esq., for an afternoon of getting your online house in order. Jonathon is the director of Constitutional Communications. He has trained over 150 attorneys on cyber-security, privacy rights, and attorney client communications. He has also trained journalists, grantors and technologists at the Center for Constitutional Rights, Thoughtworks, the International Development Exchange, the Bertha Foundation, the Legal Clinics of CUNY School of Law, the NYC Lawyers Association, the Continuing Legal Resource Network at CUNY and others. In addition, he has provided training for civil society leaders from fifteen countries at the Escola Nacional Florestan Fernandes (ENFF), in Brazil.

RALLY & PACK THE COURT! Brooklyn Bridge 5
Tuesday April 28, 2015 Time: TBA (likely in the AM)
100 Centre Street, Court 31, New York, NY
The Brooklyn Bridge 5, are arrestees from a scuffle with officers following the Millions March in December. The five have since been indicted on a range of felonies and misdemeanors, and will have their first day in court later this month. The case against the Brooklyn Bridge arrestees is one part of a larger counterattack against the anti-police brutality movement that exploded across the country this year. Let’s push back, and keep our movement strong! Support these comrades against trumped-up charges, by flipping this court date into a rally, and packing the courtroom!
